3. The 3'rd edition of the competition "Challenge: Motion under control"

The Electromechanical Systems group, within the frame of the Electrical Machines and Drives Department, announces the 3'rd edition of the competition "Challenge: Motion under control".

The goals of the program are:

  • The competition will take place on the 22'nd of april 2016, inside the Electrical Machines Laboratory, Observatorului 2 building, 09:00 hours.
  • The competition is for students from the 1'st and 2'nd year, from Electrical Engineering, and it involves the development and presentation of an experimental model of an electromechanical system. The students can participate in the competition, forming teams of up to 2 members, under the coordination of a 3'rd or 4'th year student with the electro-mechanics specialization.
  • The prizes for the competition (per team), will be divided as such:
    • 600-750 lei first prize
    • 450-600 lei second prize
    • 300-450 lei third prize
    • 150-300 lei fourth prize
    The financial support will be provided by the electro-mechnical research group, with funds coming from the european projects which they manage (DEMOTEST-EV, EMDA_LoOp and ADEPT). In addition, the companies that will attend the event, will also be providing prizes for the participants.

2. Open Days at the Faculty of Electrical Engineering

The Faculty of Electrical Engineering offers a four-year Bachelor of Science in Electrical Engineering with four specializations: General Electrotechnics, Instrumentation and Data Acquisition, Power electronics and Electrical Drives and Electromechanics. Taught in Romanian, Electromechanical Engineering program combines rigorous training in engineering fundamentals and specific courses on numerical control, system integration, electric traction, communication protocols, industrial control, etc.

The goals of the program are:

  • Prepare successful leaders in technology and applications, in industry and education;
  • Develop graduates with an interdisciplinary and integrative approach to answer the engineering challenges of the societal context;
  • Opening the doors for following Master programs in many fields, either continuing Engineering (Electrical, Automotive, Mechatronics, etc) or in Management, Marketing or Entrepreneurship.

1. Challenge: Motion under control - first and second year students contest

If you want to study Electromechanics, you need to have a keen interest in electrical machines, power electronics, control, and their integration in complex systems like automotive, renewable-based and industrial applications.

As a student of Electromechanics you will gain knowledge, competences and skills that are essential in all these areas of technology. If you want to know more, come along and meet us at our Open Days and participate in the second year students ‘contest “Challenge: Motion under Control” .
