ABOUT US
The Electromechanical Systems Research Center (EMS) was established by transforming the Electromechanical Systems Research Group, previously part of the Centre of Applied Researches in Electrical Engineering and Sustainable Development (CAREESD). The increasing complexity of research activities and the growing number of collaborations with industrial partners led to the need for a dedicated and autonomous structure. Consequently, EMS was created as an independent research center with its own resources, infrastructure, and strategic vision focused on innovative and sustainable solutions for industry, energy systems, and electric mobility.
In addition to its research mission, the center plays a key role in academic education and training. EMS coordinates the Electromechanics specialization within the Faculty of Electrical Engineering, Technical University of Cluj-Napoca, as well as the scientific supervision of PhD students in the field of electrical engineering. Furthermore, the center is involved in the implementation of the master’s program Electric Mobility Systems, ensuring a strong connection between advanced education, applied research, and the current needs of industry.
This integrated structure strengthens the synergy between research and education, providing an optimal framework for training highly qualified specialists, developing innovative technologies, and supporting effective knowledge and technology transfer to the economic environment.
